A Message from the Whetstone Creek Golf Course Board of Directors

First of all, thank you to everyone for yet another very successful year at Whetstone Creek Golf Course! To our members, staff, and volunteers—we couldn’t have done it without your dedication and commitment to the mission of our organization.

A special thank-you goes out to our volunteers, who do so many things behind the scenes that often go unnoticed. Your initiative, willingness to step up, and care for the course make a huge difference.

Our staff in the clubhouse, led by Pam Jackson, did another outstanding job this year. We wish Pam all the best as she steps away to spend more time with her family. We also thank Linda, Laiken, and Cassandra for their dedication and hard work, along with the rest of the team. We truly appreciate everything you do.

On a related note, the Board has hired Laiken Lecy as our new Clubhouse Manager! Laiken has worked at the clubhouse for the last two years and has done an outstanding job. We feel fortunate that Laiken has taken on this new role and look forward to working with her!

Our superintendent, Brian Pauli, along with Cory Schwenn and their crew, are absolutely top-notch, and we are so fortunate to have them. Thank you, team!

Board Transitions

Within the next month, we will be losing two outstanding board members whose contributions have been invaluable:

Lisa Eisenschenk has served on the board for three years, most recently as Secretary. Lisa’s energy, passion, and commitment to Whetstone Creek have made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for all she has done. Lisa has been involved with fundraising, ladies league tournament organization, and of course, organizing the Saturday morning scramble! Thank you, Lisa!

Bob Berens has served for many years in a variety of roles, most recently as Vice President. Bob has been instrumental in fundraising, tournaments, and acting as liaison to the clubhouse manager. Much of his work happens quietly behind the scenes, but it is hard to imagine where we’d be without his efforts. Thank you, Bob, for your many years of dedication!

Projects & Progress

2025 was another year of growth and improvement at Whetstone Creek. Some highlights include:

  • Website & Online Booking – With leadership from board member Jake Knoll, we successfully launched our website and online tee time booking system. This has been well received and widely used by members.
  • Drainage Project (Hole #3) – The new drainage system was put to the test with this year’s heavy rains, and we’re pleased to report it has been a success.
  • Bathroom Project – Yes, we know it feels like it’s never-ending—but the new bathroom is finally nearing completion and will be ready for use next spring.
  • New Cart Shed Project – Concrete pads have been poured for three new buildings, each with 36 individual cart sheds (108 total). In the coming weeks, protective netting and fencing will be installed along the driving range, standing over 40 feet tall and extending 320 feet in width. This area will also provide over 50 vehicle parking spaces, significantly more than our current setup.
Construction on the new cart sheds has started and is making great progress. Beginning in spring 2026, members will move carts into the new sheds. Afterward, the old sheds will be demolished to make room for seven new housing lots near Hole #2. More details on the lots will be shared as we get closer, and a rendering is already on display in the clubhouse.

Financials & Looking Ahead

We remain committed to responsible financial management while continuing to invest in improvements that benefit members and the long-term success of Whetstone Creek.

Looking ahead, we encourage all of you to stay engaged—whether by being a member, inviting friends and family to visit, supporting events, or volunteering. Every bit of support strengthens our community and ensures Whetstone Creek continues to thrive.

On behalf of the Board, thank you all once again for making this such a successful year. We appreciate you and look forward to seeing everyone back in the spring!

Have a wonderful rest of your year!

— Jan Scriver, President
